Seed dressers have been used for many years to decontaminate crop seeds before planting. Let's consider the purpose and mode of action of "TMTD" - a fungicidal preparation, its composition, consumption rate and correct dosage. How to use the drug, with what means it can be combined and what can be replaced if necessary.

Active ingredient and release form of the fungicide "TMTD" VSK

Contact fungicide "TMTD" is also a Soviet drug that is used for dressing the seeds of many agricultural crops: cereals, legumes, beets, potato tubers, and forage grasses. Today it is produced by JSC "August" in the form of a water-suspension concentrate in cans of 10 liters. The composition of the powder pesticide includes the active ingredient - thiram, which belongs to dithiocarbamates. In 1 liter of it is 400 g. By the nature of the action "TMTD" refers to protective and healing pesticides.

Spectrum and principle of action

Destroys pathogens of fungal diseases of plants on the surface of the seed material and in the soil. It is highly effective against mold and various types of rot. "TMTD" has a vivid bactericidal effect, which is not found in other similar drugs. Contact fungicide disrupts the development of vegetative and regenerative organs of fungi-pathogens, which are located on the surface of seeds and in the ground.

Destroys pathogens within 1-2 days. It can be stored on plants for 1-1.5 months. It does not penetrate into plant tissues and seeds, remains on their surface, where it destroys spores and mycelium at the initial stage of its growth. Getting into the cells of fungi, tyram stops the activity of enzymes, which makes the vital activity of pathogens impossible.

It is used against seed mold, gray and white rot, peronosporosis, fusarium, bacteriosis, stem and root rot, anthracnose, polysporosis, ascochitosis, phomosis, cercosporosis - diseases of cereals and legumes, fodder and flowers.

Consumption rate and application

Seeds are treated with "TMTD" with moistening 2-15 days before sowing or some time before it (up to 1 year). Potato tubers are pickled before planting. Processing is carried out only once.

The rate of application of the fungicide (l per ton of seeds) and the consumption of the dressing agent (l per ton):

  • wheat - 3-4 (10);
  • corn - 4 (10);
  • sunflower - 4-5 (10);
  • flax - 3-5 (5-8);
  • beets - 8-12 (15);
  • rye - 3-4 (10);
  • legumes, alfalfa, lupine - 6-8 (10);
  • potatoes - 4-5 (20).

The drug effectively protects plants at an early stage of their development, destroying pathogens already on the seeds and in the soil, which prevents them from developing and multiplying.

Precautions when using the drug

"TMTD" belongs to agrochemical preparations with hazard class 3. It includes products that are of little danger to human health. Safety regulations prescribe working with him in protective clothing, shoes. It is imperative to wear rubber tight gloves, a respirator and goggles with side protection.

When diluting the solution and processing, do not eat, drink or smoke. After finishing work, wash clothes and equipment with water.

First aid for poisoning

Poisoning with pesticides has the same symptoms, only they appear to varying degrees. Depending on the amount of the drug that has entered the body, there are 3 degrees of poisoning: mild, moderate and severe.

Symptoms of agrochemistry poisoning: dizziness, headache, weakness, profuse saliva, unpleasant taste in the mouth, dry cough. Blood pressure may rise, symptoms of chronic diseases, such as asthma, may increase. With a severe degree of poisoning, dilated pupils, increased sweating, discoloration of the skin, noisy breathing, and convulsions are added to these symptoms.

If the fungicide solution comes into contact with the skin, rinse these areas with water for 15 minutes. The same should be done if the solution accidentally gets into the eyes and mouth. If it enters the stomach, rinse it. If the condition has not improved, you should immediately consult a doctor.

Compatibility with other substances

TMTD is compatible with fungicides used for seed dressing. This product is allowed to be used with bacterial preparations and fertilizers, since it does not inhibit the growth of bacteria.

If compatibility is not mentioned in the instructions for the preparations, it is necessary to conduct a test mixing of a small amount of both substances before diluting the general mixture and, if a chemical reaction does not follow, then they are compatible.

Terms and conditions of storage of funds

Store the product with "TMTD" thiram in a warehouse in a tightly closed package. Storage conditions - dry, dark place, temperature from -15 ˚С to + 35 ˚С. If the storage rules are observed, "TMTD" can be stored for 3 years from the time of its manufacture. After that, the drug must be thrown away, it is not suitable for use.

Analogs of "TMTD" containing thiram, used in agriculture - preparations "Vitavax 200 FF", "Vitalox", "Vitaros", "Vitasil", "Granuflo", "Tyr", "TMTD-plus". "Vitaros" can be used in personal subsidiary plots.

Fungicide "TMTD" is intended for the treatment of agricultural seeds from fungi. Prevents the development of diseases at the very first stage. To achieve the effect, just one treatment is enough. It begins to act immediately after application and destroys pathogens in just 1-2 days. Thus, it prevents the loss of yield from fungal diseases. Non-toxic to plants, low-hazard to humans, animals, bees. Does not penetrate into plant tissues, does not accumulate in them, does not remain in the ground.
