Plum is a fruit with delicate pulp, aromatic and tasty. It is not for nothing that adults and children eat it with pleasure, and the hostesses prepare a variety of desserts. The most popular are jams made from plums, which do not require lengthy cooking, can be made from various ingredients and used both directly in food and as a filling for baking. How to make a delicate plum treat that preserves the fruit's natural sweetness and sourness?

Tips for making plum jam

In order for the product to turn out delicious and acquire the desired consistency, it is worth considering some features:

  • it is important to adhere to the temperature regime, monitor the cooking process and time - the jam can be overcooked or burned;
  • the most delicious jam is obtained from ripe, large fruits, without rot and damage;
  • for cooking, you can use copper, aluminum or enameled dishes, wide, with low walls, but a thick-walled cauldron is better;
  • the most uniform consistency of plum jam can be achieved using a hand blender.

About 1 kg of jam comes out from 1 kg of fruit.

Preparing drains

Before cooking, the fruits must be sorted out, removing the spoiled plums, rinsed under running water, remove the stalks.

Since jam is most often made from seedless fruits, they must be removed.

The most difficult thing to do is when it comes to white plums, you have to tinker with them, since the bones in the pulp sit very tightly.

As for the taste, it is usually sweet with sourness in plums. But in yellow fruits, during cooking, the skin gives the dish a slight bitterness and to prevent this from happening, you can peel the plums from the skin.

  4. jam can be taken out and laid out in containers.
